Fondation Idella was founded in 1994 by M.Sc. in Building Sciences Frode V. Nyegaard (1904-1999)
Frode V. Nyegaard lived and worked abroad for many years. Partly on these grounds, he established a foundation aimed at supporting young students within three areas of education:
In the areas of Humanities and Technical Science, the foundation awards travel grants. In the fields of Medical & Health Science, the foundation supports projects in traditional health science and alternative medicine.
Travel grants must be used for studies, education or advanced studies abroad.
Travel grants are awarded to Danish and foreign citizens, but can only be used in conjunction with studies outside of Denmark. Studies in Denmark are not supported.
Please note that emphasis is placed on different qualifications in the three study areas, so it is important to read the criteria thoroughly before applying for a travel grant.

New rules for applicants
Important: Your study trip or Educational programme must begin in 2027
As a new requirement introduced by the Foundation, funding in this application round is only available for study trips and educational programmes that begin in 2027.
Therefore, please only apply if your plans involve departure or commencement on or after 1 January 2027. Applications for trips or programmes starting before this date do not meet the Foundation’s eligibility criteria and will be rejected without further consideration.
We recommend that you carefully check your travel and programme dates before submitting your application.
